Even though his squad didn't get the win, Symmonds still proved that he is fit and ready to rock. After Coming off of Altitude just one week ago, Nick is finding his speed early in the season, even if he had to come back from a 49 opener.

Nick Symmonds took an unconventional route to second place in the 800 meter at the US Track championships in 2006. Symmonds attended Willamette University, a Division III school. While at Willamette, Symmonds owned the track; he won seven national titles. Though Symmonds was relatively unknown heading into the 2006 US championships, that did not discourage him. To earn his successful finish of second in the nation for the 800 meter, Nick passed a pack of five runners during the last 150 meters. Now Nick?s route to championship has broken the mold for others to follow.
