The Oregonian BEAVERTON -- Olympian Nick Symmonds opened his 2009 outdoor season at the sixth Nike Mile on Thursday afternoon, a low-key event staged for employees at the campus track. Symmonds ran 1:46.25 for 800 meters and beat five other athletes from the Oregon Track Club Elite. Mark Wieczorek was second in 1:47.11. "That's about what I opened up with last year so it shows I'm on pace," said Symmonds, who said he aims to run faster than 1:45.0 at the Prefontaine Classic on June 7.
