OTC sets world, American best; Brown wins mile at Tyson
16 February 2010
Seattle, Washington -- The Oregon Track Club Elite can now lay claim to the fastest Distance Medley Relay ever run on an indoor track.  The team of Nick Symmonds, Matt Scherer, Tyler Moulder and Will Leer set a blistering time of 9:21.77, highlighted by Symmonds' opening 1200 meter leg, covered in a time of 2:51, and Will Leer's incredible 1600 meter anchor leg, splitting 3:55 in a solo effort.  Scherer and Moulder covered their 400 and 800 meter legs in 47 and 1:47, respectively.
Their time eclipses the previous American Best, held by the University of Texas, and gives the OTC Elite team a new title -- World Best.

Also, another OTC Elite athlete was in action tonight in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  Russell Brown toed the line in the Men's Mile at the Tyson Invitational and came away with a victory and personal best, winning in a time of 3:55.79.
