Jeter continues to fly, Symmonds wins for the hometown crowd
JUNE 7, 2009 - PREFONTAINE CLASSIC - Eugene, OR
Carmelita Jeter (USA/Nike) continued her 2009 unbeaten streak, this time adding the Olympic champion and silver medalist to those she has defeated this season.

Jeter stormed to victory in the women's 100 meters with a windy 10.85. Muna Lee (USA/Nike) has once again beaten her other American rivals placing third and also crosses the finish line ahead of the Olympic Champion.

Nick Symmonds (USA/Nike OTC) put on another show at Hayward Field after battling back from an early season injury that forced him to miss valuable training time. He once again stormed down the homestretch to win over an impressive men's 800 meter field. Also competing well in Eugene was Xavier “X-Man” Carter (USA/Nike) who is starting to show form at the right time. He placed second in the men's 300 meters with a time of 31.93. 2004 Olympic Champ Tim Mack tied for 2nd in the men's pole vault, while Australian Champion Fabrice Lapierre (AUS/Asics) placed third in the men's long jump.

In the Saturday night distance session, Stephen Pifer (USA/Nike OTC) finished second in the men's 3000 meters with a new personal best mark.
