Total Sports athletes hit Europe running, jumping, throwing

BISLETT GAMES – OSLO, NOR---Former World Record Holder and 2008 Olympic Bronze Medalist Svetlana Feofanova (RUS/Nike) took third with an impressive jump of 4.66 meters. She thought she had cleared the winning height of 4.71 meters, but the bar fell off as she exited the pit.

IAAF MADRID GRAND PRIX – MADRID, ESP---Fabrice Lapierre (AUS/Asics) stole the show in Madrid long jumping an incredible 8.57 meters (wind-aided) to defeat the Olympic and World Champion.He also jumped a legal personal best of 8.35 meters and received the Athlete of the Meet Award. Veteran Danny McFarlane (JAM/Reebok) took second in the 400 meter hurdles with a solid mark of 48.53, while Lacy Janson (USA/Nike) took third in the women’s pole vault. 58th CORK CITY SPORTS – CORK, IRE---Brendan Christian (ANT/Reebok) captured  athlete of the meet honors and his third victory in a row while in Europe taking the men’s 100 meters in 10.12w. Former European Champion and Olympic fourth-placer Ivet Lalova (BUL/Nike) made her season and Total Sports debut taking the women’s 100 meters with a time of 11.24w. Andrea Bliss (JAM/Puma) ran to a season best to win the women’s 100 meter hurdles.  STADE SOTTEVILLAIS 76 – SOTTEVILLE, FRA---U.S. Champion and Olympic Silver Medalist David Payne (USA/Nike) left Sotteville with a victory in the men’s 110 meter hurdles in 13.36. Dwight Thomas (JAM/Adidas) returned to the same event after a four year layoff and placed second with the same time as Payne.
