REEBOK BOSTON INDOOR GAMES Former World Indoor Champion Me'Lisa Barber (USA) led a Total Sports 1-2 sweep in the women's 60 meters as 2007 100 meter bronze medalist Carmelita Jeter (USA/Nike) placed a very close second 7.19 to 7.20. Olympic Trials 100 meter Champion Muna Lee (USA/Nike) placed fourth.
In the men's 60 meters, NCAA 100 meter record holder Travis Padgett (USA/Adidas) placed third. In the men's 1000 meters, Olympic Trials 800 meter Champion Nick Symmonds (USA/Nike OTC) once again showed his acceleration in running away from the field to take the victory in his first outing of 2009. In the women's 3000 meters, British steeple Olympian Barbara Parker (New Balance) placed third. EUROPEAN CIRCUIT Lacy Janson (USA/Nike) opened her season with a very respectable vault of 4.50 meters in Stuttgart, Germany. Last weekend in Glasgow, Andra Manson (USA/Nike) scored a high jump victory (2.32 meters) for the U.S. at the Five-Team Match. Two days later, Manson had another good outing placing second in Malmo, Sweden with a jump of 2.30 meters.
