Olympic silver medalist David Payne opens in Paris TYSON INVITATIONAL - FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS (USA) U.S. Olympic Trials Champion Nick Symmonds (USA/Nike OTC) made it two wins in a row.

Fresh off a 1000 meter win in Boston, Symmonds made a big move with 300 meters to go to win the men's 800 meters. 2007 World Championships bronze medalist Carmelita Jeter (USA/Nike) showed her steady improvement through the indoor season. She finished fourth in Millrose, second in Boston, and she picked up the 60 meter win in Tyson over a very strong field. Xavier "X-Man" Carter (USA/Nike) competed in his first race since the Olympic Trials and ankle surgery. The "X-Man" led wire to wire to take the men's 400 meter victory. SEAT MEETING - PARIS, FRANCE Olympic silver medalist David Payne (USA/Nike) opened his season in Paris taking second to former World Champion Ladji Doucoure. Payne ran 7.53 in the heats and 7.55 in the final to Doucoure's 7.53. TEXAS A&M INVITATIONAL - COLLEGE STATION, TX (USA) Laverne Jones-Ferrette (ISV/Adidas) won the women's 400 meters in a time of 52.38. Placing second was Clora Williams (JAM/Puma). WAF Champion Fabrice Lapierre (AUS/Asics) opened his winter season with a win in the men's long jump with an impressive mark of 8.02 meters.
