IRELAND’S CIARAN O’LIONAIRD had a memorable night in Massachusetts on Saturday, winning the New Balance Boston Grand Prix in a time of 3:56.01 minutes.
The Leevale AC runner ran a fine tactical race throughout, moving clear in the last 200 metres to beat Taylor Milne of Canada into second place.
British world champion Mo Farah could only finish fourth after he suffered a bad fall early in the race.
The win was O’Lionaird’s first big mile race win on the US indoor circuit.
