THE second fastest 100m runner of all-time Carmelita Jeter faces the in-form athlete on the circuit in the shape of Laverne Jones-Ferrette in the 60m at the PSD Bank Meeting in Dusseldorf, February 3. The 30-year-old Jeter won the Glasgow International in Kelvin Hall in 7.19 but Jones-Ferrette bested Jeter’s time by one-tenth at the BW-Bank Meeting in Karlsruhe the following day, where the US Virgin Island athlete set a national record and world-lead of 7.09 in the heats, and a 7.11 clocking in the final.
